Penyelesaian Masalah Lalu Lintas pada Persimpangan Sebidang Taman Tirus

Abstract

Railroad level crossings are the cause of traffic congestion and potential accidents at the Taman Tirus intersection, Tegal City. The problem is caused by the lack of adequate inventory to support traffic safety. The proposed solution is to improve the infrastructure at the level crossing by building a flyover. This study aims to evaluate the level of safety and security at the Taman Tirus level crossing. The method used was primary data collection by analyzing traffic congestion problems. The results showed that traffic counting was conducted during morning, afternoon, and evening peak hours. In addition, the V/C Ratio at the level crossing reached a value of 0.9, indicating that the road capacity has almost reached its maximum limit. Therefore, it is necessary to solve the traffic problem at the Taman Tirus level crossing to improve traffic safety and smoothness which has a positive impact on the people of Tegal City.
