Abstract

The choice of tire products affects braking efficiency. Tire products that are not original tires certainly have different qualities, such as choosing to use retreaded tires. This study uses an experimental method by taking samples from a certain population randomly. It was found that the critical condition of retreaded tires occurred at a tire groove depth of 2 mm with an efficiency of 51.58% while the critical condition of original tires occurred at a tire groove depth of 1.6 mm with an efficiency of 50.5%. The decrease in tire grip and friction on the road surface is influenced by tire pressure conditions.(Nuzulia 1967) The attitude of drivers in Indonesia who pay less attention to maintenance and regular tire changes results in minimal safety factors in driving. In contrast to other countries that are more disciplined in maintaining their vehicles.
