Abstract

Bodetabek (Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi) is a buffer zone around Jakarta, leading to positive economic growth and rapid infrastructure development to connect the area with Jakarta as the center. One of them is the development of KRL as the transportation of choice. Crowded train conditions result in non-priority passengers occupying priority seats. Therefore, this study aims to determine a person's level of awareness of the priority seat designation on KRL and several factors that influence it. This research is a quantitative research with data collection through questionnaire distribution supported by direct observation at the location. The results showed that 99% of respondents knew the function of priority seats. However, 59% of them have used priority seats even though they are not included in the priority category. Meanwhile, through observation, only 25% of priority passengers get their rights to sit in priority seats. In addition, the results are based on the factors of gender, age, and education towards awareness in the use of priority seats.
