Prosedur Engine Brake Pada Sepeda Motor Matic Untuk Mengurangi Risiko Rem Blong Di Jalanan Turunan Cangar

Automatic motorcycles are very popular. However, they are less effective when going downhill because they often experience brake failure due to a lack of knowledge about riding on downhill roads. Many people are not yet aware that using the engine brake can reduce speed on automatic motorcycles. The purpose of this journal is to determine the relationship between engine braking and the number of accidents caused by brake failure. This type of research is quantitative, and data collection in this study was conducted using a questionnaire method. The sampling technique is purposive sampling, with respondents being riders of automatic vehicles who have passed through the Cangar descent. Based on data from 100 respondents who are drivers, 64% do not have knowledge about engine braking. The majority of respondents who are aware of engine braking are aged 20-23 years (14.4%) and have a bachelor's degree or equivalent (18.7%). The majority of those who are unaware of engine braking experienced brake failure while descending Cangar (35.8%). This research can make a significant contribution to improving the safety of automatic motorcycle riders.
