Desain & Simulasi Platform Pendeteksi Over Dimensi Berbasis Yolov8 Algorithm Menggunakan Opencv

Operational violations of motorized vehicles, especially freight cars, are increasing in Indonesia. 64.11% of these violations are caused by Over Dimensions and Over Load (ODOL), while the remaining 35.89% are related to technical violations, documents, and loading procedures. Currently, load control uses WIM (Weigh in Motion) technology for automatic weighing, but dimensional measurements still use manual methods and equipment, requiring relatively large amounts of time and testing labor. In this research, the design and simulation of an over dimensions detection platform using OpenCV-based YOLOv8 Algorithm is expected to provide an indication of dimensional violations, especially in the aspect of vehicle length consisting of Wheel Base (WB), Front Over Hang (FOH), and Rear Over Hang (ROH). with parameters FOH > (0.625 x WB) and ROH > (0.475 x WB). Thus, this tool not only increases the efficiency of measuring vehicle dimensions, but also minimizes the potential for officer fatigue.
