Pengawasan dan Pengendalian Kendaraan Angkutan Barang Terhadap Over Dimension dan Over Loading pada Jembatan Timbang Watudodol

Abstract

Over Dimension and Over Loading violations are problems that cause road damage, accidents and decreased transportation efficiency. With a qualitative approach, this research explores the causal factors, supervision and law enforcement efforts in overcoming this problem. The purpase of this research is to analyze how high the number of Over Dimension and Over Loading violations that occur in the Watudodol Motor Vehicle Testing Service Unit, Banyuwangi Regency. Data was obtained through literature study, interviews and field observations. The research results show that violations are caused by a lack of driver awareness, weak law enforcement, and a lack of supporting facilities such as weighbridges. Recommendations for this research include increasing outreach and education to drivers, improving regulations and stricter law enforcement, as well as improving cargo delivery infrastructure. These steps are expected to improve control and supervision of cargo, thereby creating safer and more efficient transportation.
