Analisis Kinerja Dua U-Turn Berdekatan Level of Service (Studi Kasus U-Turn di Jalan Alauddin, Makasar)

Abstract

Makassar is the capital city of South Sulawesi Province. Makassar City has a population of 1,432,189 people in 2022 and is experiencing rapid growth until 2023 of 1,474,393 people. U-turn is a vehicle maneuver that involves a 180-degree change in direction by rotating half a circle on its axis. This study aims to ensure the safety and comfort of road users and traffic efficiency. This study uses a qualitative research methodology with a special focus on the transportation sector. Collecting traffic data is an important step in this study because it serves as the basis for analysis. This study uses primary data which is geometric data of u-turns and road sections as important tools for planning, design, evaluation, information and education in the transportation sector. The results of the study show that the distance between the two u-turns is too close so that it does not comply with applicable regulations so that it can be closed on u-turn 1 because it has a high degree of saturation and has a smaller u-turn opening width than u-turn 2.
