Rancang Bangun Wireless Seat Alarm untuk Penumpang KRL Berkebutuhan Khusus Berbasis Internet of Things

The Electric Railway Train (KRL) in Indonesia is a vital mode of transportation for various community members, including children, adults, the elderly, people with disabilities, and pregnant women. However, the misuse of priority seats is a common issue, with passengers often competing for these seats, disregarding those who truly need them. To address this, an IoT-based wireless alarm system has been developed using the ESP-32 module with Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) technology, HC-SR04 ultrasonic sensor, and RFID technology. This system detects passengers in priority seats and sends Bluetooth signals to notify nearby passengers when priority users arrive. Testing shows that the system accurately detects passengers, with the ultrasonic sensor having a reading tolerance of less than 21 cm. The IoT-based system effectively ensures priority seat availability for those in need and offers a practical solution for improving transportation services for special needs passengers in Indonesia.
